I have been a crew chief and race engineer for thirty-five years. This is the record — short tracks to NASCAR national series, the salt and the mountain, and the company all of it built. The highlights, in order; the photos are the evidence.

Where it started

I built and drove my first race cars on the East Tennessee short tracks — Newport, Atomic Speedway, Smokey Mountain Speedway.

1991 — 2000

Up the ladder

NASCAR Sportsman at Charlotte. Crew chief on a Hooters Cup Formula 2 car in 1994. Sports Toyota, then USAC open wheel and the Indianapolis 500 in 2000.

2009 — 2011

NASCAR national series

In 2010 we put Jennifer Jo Cobb 17th in points — at the time, the highest points finish by a female driver in a NASCAR national series. In 2011, as crew chief, we finished 6th at Daytona.
